Speakers: Sonia Lasaga & Alan McDyre

Sonia Lasaga

Although from a Spanish background, Sonia Esther Lasaga was born in Wollongong (in Australia) and is bilingual and bicultural. She has been director of The Cultural English Centre (TCEC) in Linares (Jaen) since 1987 and has been a member of ACEIA, the Association of Private Language Schools in Andalucía, since 1989. She has been ACEIA's spokesperson fo Jaen province for many years and a member of the governing board of the association. She has had a wide and varied teaching career, specialising in English for commercial and business purposes throughout Jaen province.  

Alan McDyre

Born in London, Alan McDyre has been working in Spain since 1987. During his career he has been a teacher, a translator and, since 1989, owner and manager of Idiomaster language schools in the province of Cordoba.  He has been a member of ACEIA, the Association la Private Language Schools in Andalucía,  for many years and has held the roles of ACEIA spokesperson for Cordoba province and vice-president, before becoming president of the association in 2016.  Since 2011 he has also been a member of the governing board of FECEI, the <eNational Federation of Private Language Schools in Spain, of which he is currently treasurer.

ACEIA

ACEIA is the Association of Private Language Schools in Andalucía. The association encourages a spirit of cooperation among its member schools and looks out for  the welfare of its students, its teachers and its members. The association strives for quality in language teaching and aims to provide a professional environment for students and teachers in its member schools.
